Why invest in doodling?

Imaginative play is good for us, and most of us don’t do enough of it.

Imagination is central to creativity. When we engage in creative activity, our brains fire up our imaginative network (the bit involved in spontaneous thought, intuition, memory and meaning-making) and our executive processing network (responsible for focus and critical thought) - parts that don’t usually work together.

Most of us have spent decades training our critical, analytical brains, but neglected our imaginative brains. We need both of them working together in order to feel more creative.

So think about Doodle Cafe like cross-training for your mind. It will help you feel sharper, more cognitively alive and flexible at work (as well as being generally great for our mental health).
